East Caithness Church of Scotland (ECCOS)

Parish Newsletter — April 2025

Dear Friends,

As I sit at the manse desk here in Lybster… ‘He is NOT going to let you stumble or fall’ (Psalm 121 v3).

Blessings to you all

April Charity — Omega Task in Costa Rica

… At the end of April I will be going out to the Omega Task project in Costa Rica… All donations in the box in April will be for Omega Task; to cover goods for Rob to take and also for coffee to bring back… The cost of the coffee is £15 per ½ kilo… appeal for prayer, for the Omega Task and for Rob’s safe travel there and back!

Right Now Media (RNM)

On Monday the 24th a few of us met with the RNM staff… There are over 20k videos on different aspects of faith, over 2k children’s videos that are wholesome and family safe… Simply email rob@eccos.org.uk and say that you would like access to RNM…

Safeguarding in ECCoS and PVG certificates

… Our Safeguarding Co-ordinator is Emily Maclean… her number is 07555 046232. Soon we shall need volunteers for our summer club, so now is the time to go thro’ that “simple training to gain a PVG certificate.”…

‘FEBA’ says enormous thanks!

A few months ago the monthly charity we supported in Argyle Square was FEBA… we sent over £530 to help spread the gospel by radio… Your donations particularly helped people in Nepal… Enormous thanks!

Barnabas Aid

… although we are now helping Omega Task in Costa Rica for April, if you do still have some dried beans, or tea, sugar or salt, pop it in the box just until Easter and it will all go to help persecuted and suffering Christians. And thanks for ALL your “pennies” in the box!

Easter Celebrations in ECCoS

There is much to celebrate when we come to Easter… Jesus is alive! … On Palm Sunday… On the Thursday of Holy Week we are again holding a Passover Meal in Argyle Square hall… Good Friday in Lybster… Easter Day celebrations in both Lybster and Argyle Square… Then on Sunday 27th April there’s a United Communion service in Lybster at 11am.

Creating the monthly Prayer sheet

Chatting with Zelia, who puts the prayer sheet together each month… prayerfully collated and always relevant prayer sheet which you give us each month — thank you!
