MIDWEEK REFLECTION
Dear Church Family,
Reflection – Acts 3:19
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)
Peter’s words in Acts 3 come immediately after the healing of a man who had been unable to walk since birth. The crowd is amazed by the miracle, but Peter directs their attention away from the miracle itself and toward the God who makes new life possible. His invitation is simple yet profound: repent and turn to God.
Repentance is often misunderstood as merely feeling sorry for our mistakes. In Scripture, however, repentance means a change of direction, a turning away from sin and a turning toward God. It is not simply about looking back with regret; it is about moving forward in faith.
What is remarkable in this verse is the promise attached to repentance. Peter speaks of sins being “wiped out,” an image of complete forgiveness and restoration. God does not merely cover over our failures; He removes them through His grace. Along with forgiveness comes “times of refreshing.” The Lord offers renewal for weary hearts, strength for those who feel burdened, and hope for those who have lost their way.
As we move through this week, Acts 3:19 invites us to examine our hearts. Are there attitudes, habits, or worries that we need to place before God? Where might He be calling us to turn more fully toward Him? The good news of the gospel is that every step toward God is met by His mercy and grace.
May we experience a fresh forgiveness, renewal, and refreshing presence of the Lord in the days ahead.
Prayer:
Gracious God, thank You for Your promise of forgiveness and renewal. Help us to turn away from all that separates us from You and to walk more closely in Your ways. Refresh our hearts with Your presence and fill us with the hope and joy that come from knowing You through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
Gracious God, thank You for Your promise of forgiveness and renewal. Help us to turn away from all that separates us from You and to walk more closely in Your ways. Refresh our hearts with Your presence and fill us with the hope and joy that come from knowing You through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Whether you have been part of the group before or are thinking of coming along for the first time, you are warmly invited. No prior attendance is needed, just bring your Bible, your thoughts, and a willingness to grow together in Christ.
We meet every Wednesday from 7:00–9:00pm in the upstairs lounge at Argyle Square Church in Wick.
